Alutec kk Case Study

Alutec kk is the only Czech manufacturer of structural aluminium systems with a tradition since 1994. They have a bunch of products like conveyors, modular workbenches, fences, covers, hobby products, and specialized wholesale of aluminium profiles and accessories, They are based in all across Europe.

Alutec kk wanted to create a web application where they can allow users to create, customise and order the conveyors and conveyor systems machine. They have different types of conveyor systems and their accessories design varieties like Belt, Roller, Plate apron, Modular, and Chain accumulation. Clients needed a system where any customer can customise their needs and requirements, and Order the product accordingly with very minimal and few easy-to-understand steps. Also as per the client's requirements, the application should be in two different languages.

When creating a web application to automate the ordering of conveyor system machines, some challenges that may arise include:

• User experience: Designing an intuitive and user-friendly interface that makes it easy for customers to navigate the ordering process and configure their conveyor machine.

• Customization: Allowing customers to customize their conveyor machine based on their specific needs and requirements, while also ensuring that the configuration is feasible and compliant with industry standards.

• Product information: Providing accurate and up-to-date information about the conveyor machines and their capabilities to customers, including detailed specifications, technical drawings, and performance data.

• Product availability: Integrating real-time inventory and production data to ensure that customers can see the availability of conveyor machines and estimated delivery times.

• Payment and fulfillment: Securely processing payments and coordinating the fulfillment of orders, including shipping and installation.

• Scalability: The web application should be able to handle a large number of orders and traffic.

• Integration: Integrating the web application with the company's existing systems, such as inventory management, accounting, and production planning.

We have taken the first step towards creating an automated ordering system for conveyor systems machines by creating the design using Figma. Figma is a web-based design tool that allows us to create wireframes, prototypes, and design systems. We have used this tool to create a visually appealing and user-friendly design that follows the latest design trends and best practices.

After finalizing the design, we moved on to the next step of the process, which is creating the code for the design. We have used different programming languages and frameworks to create the code, such as HTML, CSS, JavaScript, Php, and Codeigniter. We have followed best coding practices to ensure that the code is clean, maintainable, and scalable.

Next, we developed the functionality of the web application based on the design and code. We have implemented various features and functionalities such as customization, Shape selection, Material, height, width, and many more. Additionally, we have provided multiple options for the users to choose from, to make the ordering process more flexible and personalized.

To make the process easy to understand, we have separated the process into different steps like Belt Dimensions, Belt Specifications, Preview & Download, Basic details, and order confirmation step. This makes the process easy to follow and understand for the users.

We have also added support for two different languages, Czech (cz) and English (en), to make the web application accessible to a wider audience. This allows users to navigate and use the web application in their preferred language.

Finally, we have thoroughly tested the web application for bugs and performance issues to ensure that it performs well and delivers a smooth user experience.

Overall, we have successfully created the design, code and developed the functionality of the automated ordering system for conveyor systems machines, providing multiple options for the users, separated the process into easy-to-understand steps and added support for two different languages( cz, en) to make the web application more accessible for users.
